Die Klinge des KB-280 Karasu besteht aus 15-lagigem Damaszenerstahl mit einem Kern aus Blue Steel # 2, der für seine außergewöhnliche Schneidleistung bekannt ist. Die 12,5 cm lange Klinge bietet eine äußerst vielseitige Form und eine praktische Länge für eine Vielzahl von Schneidaufgaben.
Die traditionell im KUROUCHI-Verfahren bearbeitete Klinge behält ihren rohen, robusten Charakter.
Der Griff ist mit in den USA hergestelltem Paracord (Farbe: Camo Green) umwickelt. Dieses entspricht einem Seil nach Militärspezifikation und bietet eine Zugfestigkeit von ca. 250 kg sowie eine Gesamtlänge von ca. 2,7 m.
Bei Bedarf lässt sich das Seil vom Griff abwickeln und dient als starkes und zuverlässiges Seil für Notfälle.
Der eckige Knauf ist für den Einsatz als Schlagwerkzeug konzipiert und kann beim Zerschlagen oder Zerkleinern von Gegenständen helfen.
Die schwarze Lederscheide ist mit einem D-Ring ausgestattet, der eine bequeme Befestigung an einem Karabiner oder Haken ermöglicht und so für zusätzliche Vielseitigkeit sorgt.
