Artisan Cutlery and CJRB Knives
Modern EDC Knives with Distinctive Designs and Innovative Materials
Artisan Cutlery was founded in 2018 and is known for modern knife designs, innovative construction and a broad selection of materials and locking systems. The knives are manufactured in Yangjiang, China, one of the world's established centers of knife production.
Collaborations with international knife makers and designers are an important part of the brand. The range includes modern EDC and utility knives as well as technically and visually sophisticated models featuring titanium, carbon fiber, Micarta, G10 and a wide variety of modern blade steels.
In 2019, the portfolio was expanded with the sister brand CJRB. CJRB has since developed into a strong and independent brand within the EDC market. Its knives are characterized by modern and often distinctive designs, a wide variety of locking mechanisms and continuously evolving combinations of materials and blade steels.
The proprietary spray-form steels AR-RPM9 and AR-SFII play an important role within the range. AR-RPM9 was developed by Artisan Cutlery as a balanced stainless steel offering high corrosion resistance, good toughness and easy maintenance and sharpening.
With AR-SFII, CJRB has continued this material development. The newer spray-form stainless steel was engineered to provide significantly improved edge retention compared with AR-RPM9 while maintaining good toughness and practical sharpenability.
In addition to AR-RPM9 and AR-SFII, Artisan Cutlery and CJRB use a broad selection of other modern blade steels and handle materials. As a result, the two brands can no longer be clearly separated solely by material selection or price level.
Today, Artisan Cutlery and CJRB represent modern knife development across a broad spectrum, from functional EDC models to technically and visually more sophisticated configurations. Distinctive designs, modern locking systems, versatile material combinations and continuous product development are characteristic of both brands.
